THE WORLD OF

SPECIALTY CHEMICALS

Well-controlled application of various active ingredients.

Many of our products, such as release agents for rubber, plastic, cast iron and foam, as well as cleaning agents, assembly aids and functional coatings, are specially tailored to our customers’ requirements. We develop individual chemical problem solvers in our own laboratories, tailored to the specific processes of our customers.

With every development, we always focus on economical use, for the benefit of the environment and with the aim of reducing costs. Our products optimize the work process, reduce downtime and increase productivity.
The right application technology, the well thought-out process or the dosage decide which product hits the target. As a producer, we are particularly responsible for the optimum application of our specialty chemical products. We are therefore happy to personally supervise tests and trials with our products until they are ready for use. Would you like to talk to us about this topic?

LOBOTECH TR 2013

LOBOTECH TR 2013 release agents are ready-to-use release agents based on silicone polymers and resins. They are especially suitable for the injection molding of the most common thermoplastics, rubbers (e.g. EPDM) but also for the processing of casting resins (PU, epoxy resin).

ELBESOL TR 2012

ELBESOL TR 2012 – Release Agent is a concentrated release agent emulsion based on waxes. It is especially suitable for the production of molded and cast parts made of casting resins such as epoxy resin and polyurethane.

LOBOCLEAN 840

LOBOCLEAN 840 is a highly effective solvent-free industrial cleaner based on a balanced mixture of detergent surfactants. It is miscible with water in all proportions and is naturally biodegradable. LOBOCLEAN 840 cleans industrial products (mainly rubber but also plastic, metal, ceramics, etc.) from production-related soiling.
LOBOCLEAN 840 has been specially developed to remove silicone oils from workpieces.
LOBOCLEAN 840 contains no solvents and no VOCs.

ANTISTAT 805

ANTISTAT 805 is a surfactant-based antistatic agent for eliminating unwanted static charges on almost all surfaces. It is used in the processing of foams or synthetic textiles.
It is applied as a wafer-thin layer to the surfaces to be treated. It lowers the surface tension of the substrates and thus ensures that no static charge can build up. ANTISTAT 805 is an aqueous solution that can be removed from all substrates at any time, e.g. with a damp cloth.

All products from L. Böwing GmbH, whether raw material or formulation, are also expressly available ready-made. Tell us what you want in terms of container and packaging and we will make it happen.

FAQ – THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT SPECIAL CHEMISTRY

Standard chemicals often reach their limits in demanding applications. A specialty chemicals manufacturer develops products specifically tailored to the technical, economic, and regulatory requirements of a given application.

Through custom-developed formulations, product properties can be optimized, processes improved, and competitive advantages created.

Specialty chemistry refers to chemical products and formulations that are specifically developed for certain applications, processes, or industries.

Unlike commodity chemicals, the focus is not on large production volumes, but on specific functions and performance characteristics.

Typical areas include:

  • Additives
  • Formulations
  • Functional fluids
  • Silicone products
  • Process aids
  • Coatings
  • Release agents
  • Defoamers
  • Specialty lubricants

Yes. We develop custom specialty chemicals for a wide range of industries and applications.

Depending on the project, the following properties can be adjusted, among others:

  • Chemical composition
  • Viscosity
  • Active ingredient content
  • Temperature resistance
  • Surface properties
  • Material compatibility
  • Foaming behavior
  • Lubricating performance
  • Processability

Yes. We support companies with:

  • Product optimization
  • Reformulation
  • Supplier transitions
  • Performance improvements
  • Process optimization
  • Cost reduction
  • Adaptation to regulatory requirements

In many cases, existing formulations can be specifically improved or replaced with more cost-effective alternatives.

The development of specialty chemicals involves much more than formulation alone.

Typical services include:

  • Technical consulting
  • Feasibility studies
  • Laboratory development
  • Raw material selection
  • Formulation optimization
  • Sample production
  • Validation testing
  • Production support

The goal is to develop a solution that is optimally tailored to the specific application.

Depending on the product group and application, numerous properties can be specifically adjusted:

  • Viscosity
  • Temperature resistance
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Electrical properties
  • Hydrophobicity
  • Adhesion
  • Lubrication behavior
  • Foaming behavior
  • Chemical resistance
  • Surface performance

This enables formulations with precisely defined performance characteristics.

Our specialty chemicals are used across a wide range of industrial sectors, including:

  • Automotive industry
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Plastics processing
  • Electrical and electronics industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Medical technology
  • Energy industry
  • Construction industry
  • Paper industry
  • Packaging industry

Specialty chemicals are used wherever standard products do not fully meet the requirements.

Typical applications include:

  • Surface treatment
  • Lubrication and slip optimization
  • Heat transfer
  • Electrical insulation
  • Separation processes
  • Foam control
  • Corrosion protection

For a quick technical assessment, the following information is helpful:

  • Industry and application
  • Currently used product
  • Target requirements
  • Temperature range
  • Chemical environment
  • Material combinations
  • Required quantities
  • Regulatory requirements

The more detailed the requirements are described, the more efficiently development can proceed.

The development time depends on numerous factors, such as formulation complexity, required testing, and the scope of validation.
